Dr. Siti Nur 'Alaniah Abd Wahid

Dr. Siti Nur ‘Alaniah Abd Wahid obtained her PhD, specializing in educational philosophy and psychology, from the Raja Zarith Sofiah Centre for Advanced Studies on Islam, Science and Civilisation (RZS-CASIS). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Usuluddin from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, in 2004 and her master’s in interdisciplinary Islamic Studies from State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in 2011. She also holds a Diploma in Counseling Psychology from Lee Community College, Singapore.

She currently serves as an Associate Member of the Fatwa Committee (Muis), Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Islamic Scholars and Religious Teachers Association (PERGAS), Council Member of Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulid (LBKM), member of the Board of Visitors to SAF Detention Barracks (SAFDB), member of the Asatizah Recognition Board (ARB), and a trainer for the Asatizah Recognition Scheme-Continuing Professional Education (ARS-CPE). She received the PERGAS-Kiyai Zuhri Mutammin Scholarship in 2015 and is also active as a guest lecturer, speaker, and trainer at various institutions.

She is presently a Research Fellow for the RPCS Research Fellowship Programme at the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore. Her research examines how the concept of family has evolved, particularly in the context of Singapore, a secular state with a diverse religious and multi-racial society.
